Please read though the whole of this client guide to get a full understanding on how a session with me will work.
THE LOW DOWN
Its about capturing and recording the moments as they happen naturally in a truthful and honest way. My passion is to record you as you are and photograph the ones you love in a timeless way for the future.
All those day to day moments, your mundane, the current essence of who you are right now,
its forever changing and moving.
My storytelling photography does something - it freezes moments and locks them down. It preserves time and transports you to the yesteryear, that once was just your yesterday.
Nothing lasts forever - but truthful photographs help to keep that phase in your life tangible.
As well as photographing your connections and interactions, I have a deep rooted love for creating environmental portraits within your session. With my passion for composition and creativity, your photos will have elements of your life laid bare with artistically captured
snippets of your favourite individuals.
I would call myself a photographic storyteller and your story is worth recording.

WHAT SHALL WE WEAR?
You don't need to buy any new clothes or even brush your hair.
When it comes to your session, its completely up to you when it comes to what you wear, but I can give you a few pointers if you wish.
Lets forget matching - it will look dated in years to come and lets be honest, you don't normally all wear the same t-shirts! We are wanting to create images with truths that will last the test of time and remain timeless.
Avoid matching and think about selecting outfits that compliment each other.
So if you do want to blend, think colour and tones, but also texture and fabrics.
Soft and natural tones are beautiful to photograph and always work well together.
Rich colours like deep dark reds, mustards, earthy greens also all look wonderful when it comes to images.
Avoid wearing items of clothing which has words / slogans / logos or cartoon characters if you can. These often don't photograph well and can be distracting when it comes to looking at your photos and keeping that timeless feel.
I totally understand that your little one might be attached to a favourite t-shirt and in that case - roll with it!
The key here is to wear what you already have, just select what works.
Wear what you love - what is you and what is comfortable - remember this is your beautiful ordinary.
And like I said, no need to brush your hair!

I understand that some families' do want posed portraits and of course we can grab some of those for you.
I follow documentary / storytelling style which means I record you being you. I'm there to capture your personal real life story - not construct it.
I am also a chaser of light and have an eye for interesting spaces, so from time to time, if the mood is right and you are happy to play, I may ask you if you fancy showing me around. During our session we might have ideas on images we can create - so lets just take it all in our stride and have lots fun.
There will be no bribes to smile, no pressure on the kids to behave and no stress to be perfect.
Behind closed doors your family life is perfect for you and that is what I want to record.
Your gallery will be a mix of perfectly you in your natural way, teamed with your highlights.

From talking we can learn what is important to you and the things in your day to day life you feel strongly about preserving. Unlike other photography sessions there is never a reason to call off a shoot due to poor weather. Every time of the day is a possibility and any location you love I can be there.

Is Sunday your favourite day to hang? Lets do it!
You have a favourite location to you? Show me!
Once we have the date and you have chosen how long you want me to photograph you, paying your session fee will secure your slot. I'm all yours! When it comes to the day, you do your normal and I'll be there.
Trust me it really is that easy!
Around three / four weeks later we will work out a time which suits you the best and I shall return with your finished gallery to show you. From there you can make your choices on what you would like to purchase.

Your session is tailored to you with totally unique photographs to keep forever. Relaxed and personal, its everything you want in a photographic experience. There is no price for a photography session with me if you live in Portsmouth and within a 12 mile radius.
You simply pay for what you love.
I do require a £99 non refundable deposit to secure your date, but this will then be deducted from your package choice.
